Kim Kardashian v Miranda Kerr

They were both spotted in the same dress.

Miranda Kerr wore it to the Red Carpet Fashion Awards while Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing it today at London attending one of her perfume promotion.

One is a Victoria Secret model, tall, slender and slim. Wife to the handsome Orlando Bloom as well!

Miranda Kerr in Stella McCartney
Another is a rich reality star, curvy, hourglass figure and not tall. Kim is currently dating rapper Kanye West.

I think both look good in it. Just that Kim Kardashian picked the wrong heels. It made her legs look shorter.

What about you? Who do you prefer more?

Covetz.com

Covetz has been heavily appearing on the right tab of my facebook profile. Its like pushing me to click and view on them. So I did.

Browse through their facebook page and their website and here are some simple facts:-

Location : Bangsar Shopping Centre
Delivery : Free delivery within Malaysia (Poslaju delivery). International shipping will be charged according to the order.
Contact : via their website, shopping cart style.
Refund : return items within 14 days upon receipt.

They have a catchy phrase too. "See it Like it Get it"
Well they forgot the PAY IT. HAHA

Here is their website --> Covetz.com
Their Facebook page --> Covetz Facebook

They have facebook account, twitter account, pin it and instagram. However the main site running is only their website. Even their facebook page, there is no upload of the clothes they are selling.

They are solely an internet retailer. Although they do provide their address for return items purposes, I don’t think they entertain walk-in customers.

Okay, first point, their prices are EXPENSIVE.

They sell dresses, skirts, tops, bottoms, nightwear and accessories. Their style is mostly casual and simple, not a lot of corporate pieces like Curves Boutique, Attire Attic or IIvory Couture. Prices start from RM60-RM129 which I think it’s a bit too much for casual dresses, not to mention they are just online retailer. RM129 for a dress from some online shop, the money is better spent on MNG, Zara or Topshop dresses. Just saying~~

For example this dress below, I personally do not think it costs that much. Well unless the quality of the fabric is damn goooooood!

Linen Dress RM109.00
No mannequin pictures. All dresses are modeled by models. Click on the picture and you can see other view of the clothes. Front, back and side. Size of the model is normal to thin. Some clothes look loose on her. The model is a UK size 4-6 but most of their clothes are UK size 8-10. Height of the model is not that tall so you can easily estimate the length of the dress.

If you like casual clothes that bring out the young part of you, you can try shopping with them. Though its advisable to consider twice due to the price. Fair argument that they are giving free delivery (regardless of how many piece) but the overpricing can easily cover the delivery cost. That’s a thought for you. Browse a few more shops and try comparing, if its worth it and you really dig the design/style, by all means people!

Who Da Best?

Being a celebrity is fun because you always get to dress up and show. But with all other celebrities out there, I am sure that everyone is afraid to be wearing the same gown.

Well well well, here is the first post for 'Who Da Best'

 Jennifer Lopez v Rosario Dawson

Jennifer Lopez spotted in a stunning colour block silk maxi dress by Salvatore Ferragamo. We have seen the dress before on actress Rosario Dawson in February at the Vanity Fair Oscars.

J-Lo paired it with a very high purple heels

IIvory Couture

I came across IIvory Couture a few months back and the moment I clicked onto their page, actually its not a page. Its an individual profile and you will need to add them as friends.

Well but sweat not, the pictures are available to the public and not limited. Their dresses are nice but not special. Most of the dresses I see in IIvory Couture, I have already seen it somewhere else.

Then one of my readers suggested me to review them because she liked their clothes a lot. So well, here it is --> IIvory Couture

This is their Facebook profile
They are really nice. I messaged them and asked a few questions for the purpose of this review and they are willing to reply me. I have messaged some online shops before but they are not willing to cooperate.

They are quite new to the scene, just started not long ago back in September 2011. They are a registered company under the name IIvory Couture Enterprise.

Here are some of the facts about them

Delivery : Only Poslaju (3 pieces and above, FREE POSTAGE)
Contact : Email, FB message
COD : Available for certain areas (what areas? Not specified)
Refund : They do refund but it is on exceptional cases and they judge it upon case to case basis.

They mostly sell designers inspired dresses, target market group will be the working ladies out there. Most dresses are formal enough to wear to work yet still makes you looking stylish and ‘in fashion’.

The prices are quite reasonable, middle range for online shopping standard. Normally RM70 and nothing above RM80. Though sometimes I do think the price fluctuates too much, some dress I would expect it to be their normal price (RM70) but its lower than that! Not that I am complaining but it doesn’t seem consistent. It can be that the quality of the fabric is different.
IIvory Couture - RM70
Doublewoot - RM69
IIvory Couture - RM60
See the above blue dress? Its nice, with the special shoulder cut, looks classy with a reasonable length, great for work wear and the price is RM60! Like 10 ringgit cheaper than their usual price! So you will have to browse through carefully checking the price of each dress and you might spot a cheap deal!

They update twice a week, normally Wednesday and Friday but lately in April and May, they have new updates every week.

I assume most of the dresses are ready stock because they mail out order as soon as they receive payment. For delivery wise, any purchase of 3 pieces and above, postage is free! And pay attention, it’s a free POSLAJU postage so it’s a good deal because POSLAJU guarantees next day delivery!

IIvory Couture - RM70.00
The model you see in the pictures is the owner of the shop. Not the normal stick thin models so it is good for average size women as they can roughly estimate the size of the dress.

No mannequin pictures. All dresses are modeled by their own models. Style of pictures are the standard plain background showing front and back of the dress.
Doublewoot - RM69.00
Their designs are not all unique, you can find the same design in other shops such as Curves Boutique (reviewed previously) and Doublewoot (to be reviewed soon!). You can see for yourself from the pictures above and below.

Doublewoot - RM70.00

IIvory Couture - RM70.00
But you can feel safe buying from them because their prices do not have a huge difference with other blogshops. Sometimes cheaper but that will only be like a RM1-2 difference. With 3 pieces and free delivery, its still a better deal compared to those who do not provide free delivery or require 5 pieces and above!

Feel free to drop me a message if you bought from them and let me know their quality and customer service!

Show Room Boutique

This review is about Show Room boutique. A boutique my friend recommended but I never bought from them as they are not really my kinda style.

They not only have a blog, they also have a facebook page. For me, I will prefer the facebook page because I can have a bird’s eye view of the clothes through the album view.

The clothes they sell include dresses, tops and bottoms (pants and skirts). The style of their photography is simple. Very soothing for the eye to look at.

The model looks kinda pissed off in this picture! HAHAHA
Here are some basic information about them:

Started in : 2009
Location : Kuala Lumpur
Contact : via email
Delivery : registered post or poslaju (no indication if there is any free delivery)
Click on the picture for their profile details
Their style is more towards young girls, very funky and girlish. Price wise, it is slightly higher than the normal blog shops. Tops can go as high as RM60 and dresses can be for RM79, round it up RM80. Then to add on postage, it will be quite costly for online shoppers, not to mention that they do not have free delivery.

Fresh looking top for the young ones
They also provide Cash on Delivery. No mention on whether there will be additional charge or how it will be like. You will need to mention to them in the email if you are to prefer cash on delivery.
All their Terms and Conditions on their FB Page. Not every reader friendly. Just like reading the back of a bank form with all the words jammed together.

Quite the irony actually. From their style of clothes, it seems to be targeted for a younger crowd, but the price is higher than those bloghsops that sell clothes for the working class. Maybe they only target richer young girls? Hahahaa I don’t know!

The pictures, I like that they style up their clothes with belts and clutches. Those accessories are also available for purchase. Pictures with the model posing and all, you will see the link to the accessories for that dress/top. Click on it and it will direct you to the picture of the belt/bag and you can see for yourself the price there.
Model posing, you can see that the caption does not provide the price of the dress
Picture with the hanger, price is stated at the caption
For the price of the dress, find the picture with the clothes displayed on a hanger(see pic above).

The only inconsistency is, some clothes, they only provide pictures of it on a mannequin. I wonder and wonder and it may be because the model is not free for photoshoot, it may be that the quality is not that good and it will reflect on that when a model wears it? It can also be that the size is too small. Anything is possible. Anyone of you that knows the answer is welcome to leave a comment!

Maybe the model is not tall enough to wear this? heehehehehe

One thing refreshing – They have outdoor shooting! Not much, just a few but its quite refreshing to see some outdoor shoots. Looks more professional and stylish.

Well, for those going after a girlish fresh young look with good cash to spend, no harm buying from them!

Attire Attic

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the previous review on Curves Boutique. This post today is rather special because I bought dresses from them and I can thus review on their customer service.

The blogshop under review is called Attire Attic

They are the one of the few traditional blogshops left on virtual supermarket. Most online shops have move on to Facebook page or the better ones with $$$ has their own fancy website.

Attire Attic started in 2008 and has been active for almost 3 years. Their main market is working ladies, selling mostly work attire. Their dresses are very feminine as well, with cuts and designs that flaunt a woman's curves at just the right places.

Here are some basic facts about them:

Location : Not stated but they are from KL (I have my poslaju receipt as proof)
Updates : Once a week on every Saturday. Sometimes they do update on a weekday as well.
Contact : No SMS, strictly only on email basis.
Postage : Registered mail or poslaju (see below)

Five pieces and above will be entitled for free postage, but it is registered mail and not poslaju. Note that registered mail takes longer to arrive.

The pricing for their dresses are reasonable. Mostly under RM70 (which is good) and the quality of the dresses are good as well.

The good thing with Attire Attic is, for dresses that they sell which are the same to other blogshops, they are always selling it at a lower price. It is either the same or lower, hardly ever to be more expensive than the other blogshops. Their stock on colours are limited though. For example the dress below, Attire Attic doesn't have it in yellow. Maybe they choose not to sell that colour as it is not a common colour that consumers will buy.

Miss Moore Crotchet Dress (Red) - RM69

Blue
The above same dress was also sold in another online store called Doublewoot and both are selling at the same price RM69.
Doublewoot's Lacrose in Yellow - RM69

And bla bla bla the good points about them, so whats the catch? Well, everyone has a flaw and so does online store.

Attire Attic is slow in replying emails. They do not attend sms, though i don't see the need of them saying that since they did not provide any contact number unless you have it on your poslaju slip. bwahahahaha. I bought from them before so I am speaking of experience, their communication with the consumer is not that efficient.

One of my dresses are actually not in stock so there is a bit of a delay, they did not email me and notify that. I was scared that I got cheated and I email them to follow up. They replied telling me about the delay and apologize for it (but no voucher given hahaha). Also, one of the dresses that I ordered and paid, is no longer available in the colour I want =( and they only tell me about it when I asked about my dresses in the email.

On the efficiency of delivery, it takes about a week to process your order. HAHA why do I say that? Thats because they collect stock on every Saturday. So if you place your order and make payment on a Monday/Tuesday, you will have to wait till the following Monday or Tuesday to receive your dress, provided there is no hiccups in between like no stock or no colour.

Before I end this post, one more important point I would like to make. The model for Attire Attic has  A GOOD BODY

Check out the curvessssssss. S figure ok!
This is good for consumers because most blogshops have thin skinny models so it will be a bit difficult for general consumers to weigh the size of the dress. Go on to the site to check out more curvaceous photossssss.

Alrighty folks, hope this review helps and till then~~ciao bella~~~

Curves Boutique

Curves Boutique markets its garments via Facebook page. They sell mostly dresses and most of the designs are actually designers inspired piece.

Here is the link to their FB page if you are interested --> Curves Boutique

Here are also some info about them that you will want to know:-

Location: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Postage : RM9 (uses poslaju), 5 pieces and above - free
Contact : Email or SMS
Updates : New designs every week

The average selling price is from RM69. However, they have 2 prices, online price and normal price.

See? Online specials and Normal Price.

Consumers, think now.

What do they mean by normal price? Do they own a boutique shop somewhere? If yes, why is it that me, as a walk in customer needs to pay more? I pay for my petrol to get there, I pay for parking, I spend time to get there, I walk in (energy consuming assuming I am wearing heels) and eco-friendly wise, I do not request for a bag.

Now online shoppers get cheaper rate. For online transaction, purchase of less than 5 pieces, I still bear my own delivery charges. If the dress I buy is RM69 + RM9 (delivery) = RM78. That is still considered expensive.

First Rule : Never buy a dress (including postage) that costs you more than RM75. They are not designer clothes, they are copycats of designer clothes. You chip in another RM50, that will be RM128 and you can get a decent Topshop or Zara dress. Even so, I am sure your normal boutique walk in shops will cost you probably the same and you can try it on and feel the fabric.

Do not be fooled by thinking you get a good deal by buying online. It is not! The normal price stated is to make you think you are getting a good deal. Cheaper to buy online man! Sorry girl, you've just help them fatten their account.

Second Rule : Postage should be free for purchase of 3 pieces and above. Seriously, 5 pieces is a bit too much. If you want to save on postage and bought 5 pieces, wrong math girl, wrong math. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! By the time you pay for that 5 dresses, it will be a total of RM345 (assuming all dresses are RM69 each)! Well unless you are sure that the quality is good, it is better not to risk and buy 5 pieces just for free postage. Other online shops have better deals, trust me.

Here is one of the dresses Curves boutique is selling,

Curves Boutique - RM70
and here is the same exact piece from another blogshop called Attire Attic (review on them is coming up soon!)
Attire Attic - RM59
See the difference? RM59 and RM70. Hmmmm...you do the math.

Curves Boutique - RM70

Doublewoot - RM72

IIvory Couture - RM70
Same piece of dress, both selling at RM70 and one selling at RM72. Do note however that the postage services they offer will affect the quality of your purchase. For eg, if Doublewoot (RM72) is giving free postage while the other two are not, then of course, the cheapest deal will be to buy it from Doublewoot. RM2 for poslaju! Hella of deal!

In general, Curves Boutique do have nice dresses but not special as I have seen other shops selling it at a cheaper price. Well,  I hope you enjoy reading this and let me know if you bought from them before! I will like to hear your feedback!

I will review the other online shops soon. As you can see above, Attire Attic, Doublewoot and IIvory Couture. Don't miss it!

ASOS - UK

Here is my first official post!

Online shoppers should have seen all these pictures appearing everywhere and some must be wondering, what the hell is this and why is everyone using these picture?

Well this is actually from a very famous online shopping site in the UK known as ASOS. They provide free delivery WORLDWIDE, yes your eyes are not playing tricks on you, its WORLDWIDE.

They sell their own line of designs and also some designers stuffs. They have nice dresses but then the Chinese invades!

Chinese manufacturers have been really smart. They have a look at the dresses and produce an exact piece selling it at a lower price, like much lower.

The general average price for a dress on ASOS is about £15-£30, which is upon conversion will be about RM75-RM150. Most blogshops that you see online will be selling the exact same piece at RM60-RM80.

The price that you should be paying is actually nothing more than RM70. Trust me, if they are selling you at RM80, they are making a huge profit out of you! Online blogs do not pay rent, do not hire Filipino staffs and most of them do not pay tax. So RM80 is literally double fats.

In my next post, I will be comparing 3 blogshops where they have the same dress and different prices. Don't miss it ;)

Welcome Note

Remember the movie "This Means War" where Reese Witherspoon is a product testing executive? I find that job very interesting and inspired by that, I start off this blog aiming exactly to be like that, product testing or so to speak, comparison to be more exact.

We all buy online. It is convenient, easy and time saving. We all get excited to receive parcels. But in this modern day now with online shops blooming everywhere, how would you know that you are getting the best bargain? Sweat no my dear, I can be very honest and say that I am addicted to online shopping. I can spot the same dresses being sold on at least 5 blogshops and all with different prices. I think its the best that consumers have a guide or reference before making purchases because we all know, online purchase is hardly ever returnable or refundable.

So watch out this space as I am here to let everyone know where to get the best deal in town!
